nudes, panty shots, boob shots, distracting cleavage, fetish art, or the boobs & butt pose.
Art that puts too much emphasis on butts and/or breasts will be rejected, and because of this rule most pinup art will be rejected. No poses that are too suggestive, which includes any pose you'd expect to find in playboy. Facial expressions should not be like a model's pout, or a blank doe-eyed stare. Cleavage may be permitted as long as the pose isn't an objectifying one, and there is no unnecessary emphasis.
For more detail as to what constitutes sexualizing and objectification in art, please refer to this wonderful essay.
Art that glorifies violence against women will be rejected.
Art of bound and gagged woman will be rejected.
Art of dead or dying women will be rejected.
Art of women knocked unconscious will be rejected.
NO WHITEWASHING (portraying a white character as another race is perfectly acceptable)
Art of romantic pairings between women is welcome.
Men can be in the art, like a pairing, as long as the man doesn't overshadow the woman in the piece. If it's a group shot the main focus must be on one or more women, if it's only one woman pictured with multiple men then she absolutely MUST take up a majority of the piece.
Gallery submissions must meet a certain artistic standard to be accepted. This means that we are seeking quality pieces, clean lines, smooth colors, decent body proportions. Please look at what's already in the gallery to get an idea.
Pencil art is acceptable as long as it's clean and well done. Same goes for lineart. Cosplay costumes should be neat and detailed. Photos should be sharp and in focus and have some thought put into them as to the backdrop and the lighting.
Any art that does not meet the quality standards of our gallery can be freely submitted to our favorites folders. Any art added to favorites that doesn't fit in the criteria for "art subject" will be removed.
WHICH CHARACTERS IN WHICH FOLDER
PORTRAITS VS ACTION FOLDERS
Most categories have 2 folders, one ending in "Action" and one ending in "Portraits"
Portraits: headshots, busts, standing, sitting, staring into the "camera," posing for the sake of the picture and nothing else, or fighting stances with little or no background
Action: using powers, looks like they're in the middle of doing something, looks like it could be a screencap, fighting, flying, swinging, leaping, falling, sneaking, aiming, etc. anything that if it were a photo you could call a candid.
NOTE: If you have any questions about submissions, asking if a specific piece is appropriate, or why a piece was denied, please don't use the comment section on this page. Please send a note, via the button in the top bar.
